Shipping & Handling Charges:
We charge for shipping and handling (which includes postage, packaging, and some time). It is not our intention to make money off of our shipping and handling charges and often we do not even break even on S&H.
We realize that sometimes electronic shipping calculators can go a little crazy especially if shipping multiple items or multiple items overseas. The electronic shipping calculators look at the ordered items, total price, distance F.O.B. and other criteria, but sometimes it just does not get the fact that 10 furled leaders can ship for the same price as 1.
We look at every invoice, and if the shipping and handling charge seems excessive (especially once it is shipped) you will get part of it refunded, and an e-mail to let you know.
Fly Rods:
All fly rods shipped by Fall River Flyrods, even if you are paying to have a rod shipped back without having any work done, are shipped insured. NO EXCEPTIONS. Of course, we only insure them for their current market value, but in the event that something were to happen in transit, we want to make sure everyone can be made as happy as reasonably possible.
Our wine bottle stoppers are the perfect way to preserve your favorite bottle of wine or liquor for later enjoyment, and a real treat after a long day on the water. We started building the wine bottle stoppers for friends and clients out of our exotic reel seat stock, and demand has exponentially increased over time.
Each wine bottle stopper is fitted with a chrome tear drop style base and capped with an exotic hardwood from around the world. The perfect seal is achieved using a multi diameter silicone rubber gasket. Both the hardwood top and gasket are removable for cleaning.
Each wine bottle stopper is hand turned, here in our shop, and then receives at least 6 coats of finish before being buffed to a high gloss.
There is never enough time to list all of these one of a kind items on the website. If you see a particular wood or style you like, we usually have similar items in stock to help you complete a set.
All of our exotic hardwood has been marketed, to us, as coming from renewable forests using sustainable farming practices.
Each wine bottle stopper is $20.00 + 3.95 shipping & handling (additional stoppers will ship for $1.00 each when ordering 2 or more).

In this article, we will show you some of what can be accomplished with a bamboo fly rod restoration.
This example is a Wright & McGill: Granger Victory, which our customer inherited from his grandfather.

To prepare for the project, the entire fly rod was stripped of its guides, thread wraps, and finish and a significant set was taken out of one tip (it had been stored leaning in a corner at some point in it’s history).
Next, all 5 ferrule pieces were removed, re-fit to each other, polished and re-set on the blank.

The handle was lightly cleaned of years of accumulated dirt.

The reel seat, which was loose, was polished and re-attached.

The new guides were prepared, and wrapped in the customer’s color choice, although the original thread is still available if it had been needed. The guides chosen were one size larger than what they replaced so as to accommodate modern fly lines (this rod had been built during the days of silk lines).

We keep a very full shop schedule so repair work is often fit into small openings of time, often only an hour or two, that pop up on a regular basis. This allows us to keep productive, and reduces the amount of time needed to complete repairs and restorations.
All of the work noted above was completed, and the fly rod back in our customer’s hands in less than 6 weeks. Shortly thereafter we received the following e-mail:
"Hey Jason,
Just wanted to thank you for the beautiful restoration job on my grandfather’s Granger Victory. It looks incredible and casts a beautiful flowing full loop. The last time I was this excited I was doing something illegal. Hope to see you on the water someday soon! Thanks again!!
Jamie C."
